Kunjan Shah is the founder and heart and soul of Lighting the Path.
Topping her school in SSC exams to completing her B.Com with brilliant grades from the esteemed RA Podar College of Commerce and Economics, Kunjan has always been a bright student inclined towards learning. While her classmates and friends opted for courses in Finance and Management, she took a different route and learnt German completing B-2 levels from Max Mueller Bhavan, Goethe Institute. She taught German for many years in Mensa Commerce classes and has been the students’ favourite with her unique teaching skills and her friendly connect. She had to take a break from teaching German when she expanded her family. Meanwhile she started learning Yoga and the philosophy of yoga truly helped her evolve as a person. Not one to sit idle, she utilized her self- break to the maximum in addition to her personal responsibilities. An inquisitive learner, she kept on increasing her knowledge on various subjects by reading a lot on whatever topic piqued her interest.
Her journey into the beautiful world of counselling started 10 years ago when she saw a close friend struggle with depression and she desperately wanted her to come out of this abyss. She used all the knowledge she had gained through various sources and with a lot of empathy and compassion, helped her friend out of it. This experience propelled her to learn more about personal counselling and hence she did professional training under Dr Minoo, a well-known psychologist. She also trained in Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT) and Transactional Analysis (TA) and subsequently obtained her Post Graduate Diploma in Integrated Counselling. She also did a course in Applied Buddhist Psychology which gave her newer insights into conventional therapy. With her innate and intuitive understanding, she uses a blend of both the western and eastern psychological concepts to bring about a deep transformation in her clients and yield a fruitful outcome.
Later on she did a specialized course in Career Counselling to help students find the right career fit as per their aptitude, personality and interest. She has counseled over 700 students in various schools like Sunbeam Suncity, Varanasi; Sunbeam Mau; Navy School Colaba, Navy School Kochin; Ludhani School, Mumbai; Euro International, Thane; Akshara International School, Pune; Vidyagyan School, Sitapur. She has counseled students from the Smile Foundation Mumbai and the DishaEY Foundation Pune as well. She has also given live You Tube sessions on the Gujarat Government career portal on behalf of UNICEF and Aasmaan Foundation. She believes in ethical and unbiased career counselling and also focuses a lot on skill development.
Her thirst for knowledge and growth is insatiable, and she still continues learning newer concepts to help her clients be the best version of themselves.
